The truth is that data broker removal services like Onrerep don’t provide silver bullets against online privacy and safety concerns. No service can completely erase every trace of your private information online.

Automated removal requests from 235 public data brokers
Onerep removes personal information from 235 people search sites (also known as public data brokers), including large brokers like Spokeo, Whitepages, and Radaris. While the number of brokers that Onerep covers is more than that of services like EasyOptOuts, Cloaked, and Mozilla Monster, it’s far fewer than what some dedicated data broker removal tools cover, such as Optery, Incogni, and others.

Onerep automatically rescans its list of supported people search sites every month to catch new or reappeared profiles. The dashboard shows where each request stands: whether a request has been sent, is being processed, or is awaiting verification. Onerep’s founder has an ownership stake in a data broker
In 2024, KrebsOnSecurity reported that Onerep’s founder, Dimitri Shelest, created and/or operated dozens of people search sites before launching a service that promises to remove listings from those same types of sites.
This relationship raises questions of a potential conflict of interest — with Onerep’s founder benefitting from both the problem and the solution.
Shelest has responded by saying that his only remaining affiliation is with the data broker Nuwber, and that there is “zero cross-over or information-sharing with Onerep.”
Onerep has also started acknowledging Shelest’s ownership stake in Nuwber in some Onerep.com blog posts and published an opt-out guide for Nuwber. Even with that transparency, however, the conflict of interest is hard to overlook.
Supports a lower number of data brokers
Onerep supports removals from 235 people search sites, with a number of “mirror sites” included in their list. These are websites that don’t actually publish your personal information, but redirect you to other people search sites.
This means that Onerep technically only supports removals from 168 unique people search sites — significantly fewer than other services, including Ingocni, DeleteMe, Optery, and more.
Can be slow to remove your data
Onerep’s terms of service state that “it may take up to 2 months from the date we receive complete information required to provide the Services for requests to be processed by People Search Sites.”
In reality, it may take significantly longer for the service to remove your data. As one Onerep reviewer wrote:
“We’re 7 months into the service on the family plan and 3/5 family members haven’t broken 50% removal.”
Onerep also can’t guarantee the success and timing of removal, since it “depends on the data brokers, and some may not honor opt-out requests.”
Only available to customers in the United States
Unfortunately, Onerep only supports U.S. residents. Even within the United States, removal results vary by state. According to their pricing page, users in states with consumer privacy protection laws, like California, may have better success rates than other users.
Email support only
While Onerep offers a phone number for cancellations, it does not have a standard support number or allow users to chat directly with a support representative.
Several customers on Trustpilot have been unsatisfied with Onerep’s responsiveness. As one user wrote:
“I have had over 40 sites pending for over 6 months. I have emailed support many times and never got a reply.”
Pro plans have access to “expedited 24/7” email support, but there’s no public guarantee of speed of response.
No additional protection against online scams or hacking
Onerep focuses exclusively on broker removals. This means that it doesn’t include the wider protections that all-in-one security providers offer — like anti-tracking tools, spam call protection, fraud remediation, or monitoring for criminal misuse of your data.
Difficult cancellation process
If you decide Onerep’s not for you, you’ll need to contact its support staff — either via email or phone. You can initiate a cancellation from your account’s Plans & Billing page, but you’ll need to follow multiple prompts to confirm it. Onerep will continue removing your data until the end of your subscription period.
If you’re seeking a full refund, the process is even tougher. Onerep explicitly states on its pricing page that “if you’ve used Onerep for six months or longer, the charge is irreversible and cannot be refunded.” The company also won’t refund the first month's membership fee because it completed an initial removal on your behalf.
Note: Annual subscriptions are renewed at the beginning of each anniversary year unless you give at least thirty days' prior notice.
