What is TOTP and how does it work?

Please note:

• OTP is the most secure option for 2FA that is widely available to consumers.
• By adding support for creating and generating TOTP tokens with the Aura extension and mobile application we provide users that would otherwise go to another application or vendor(1 pw, google authenticator) the alternative to choose Aura PW manager.
• Time-based one-time password (TOTP) is a string of digits only available for a short period. 
  • Other apps like 1Password and Google Authenticator offer this service - adding this to our Password Manager creates parity between the apps.

Process Steps:

1. You can add a backup method in case you forget your password you can set it up using a One Time Password (OTP) through Aura.

2. Select setup with verification codes.

3. Scan QR codes

4. Once set up, a verification code can be generated by opening the Aura extension. The TOTP expires after 10 secs and a new one will be generated.
