I received an alert for a blocked inquiry. What now?

  • Blocked inquiries will not be reflected on your Credit Report 

What Triggers a New Credit Inquiry Alert

  • Your Experian Credit Lock may be activated. This will prevent any inquiries trying to be placed using your Experian Credit File.  

 

Is there anything I have to do?

  • If you recognize the inquiry you can disable your Experian Credit Lock through your Aura Dashboard. Once disabled, your credit file can be accessed immediately. (May take up to 24 hours) 
  • Review your current credit report to ensure the information is correct. You can visit annualcreditreport.com for a free credit report 
  • Keep your Watchlist updated to ensure Dark Web Monitoring is active

 

 Example of a New Credit Inquiry

  • Blocked inquiries may list the underwriters' information
  • In this example, Synchrony Bank is an underwriter for Chevron’s credit card -SYNCB/CHEVRON
