I received a credit monitoring alert for a new address. What do I do now?

What Triggers a New Address Found Alert

  • A new address has been reported on your credit file
  • Look at the date of change. Some alerts may be delayed depending on the reporting source
  • If you submitted an address change via United States Postal Services 
  • Approval of a new lease 
  • Applying for a new line of credit or increase using a new address
  • Becoming an authorized user or co-signing for another individual

 

Is there anything I have to do?

  • If you recognize the change there are no further actions required
  • If you don’t recognize the change you can contact the United States Postal Service to make sure there hasn’t been an address change/forwarding put in place
  • Review your current credit report to ensure the information is correct
