How do I activate credit monitoring?

  1. You will need to verify your phone number (if one is present) with a code we send via SMS.
  2. Aura automatically sends your data to Equifax DIT for validation.
  3. Equifax DIT determines if your telephone number and email address are trustworthy.
    • If the phone number is trusted, when you activate your credit protection you will be prompted to verify your identity by clicking a secure link (not a numeric code) sent via SMS text message.
    • If the phone number is not trusted but the email address is trusted, when you activate your credit protection you will be prompted to verify your identity by clicking a secure link sent via email.
    • If neither phone number nor email is trusted, when you activate your credit protection you will be prompted to verify your identity by answering questions from your credit profile.
