- Equifax DIT determines if your telephone number and email address are trustworthy.
- If the phone number is trusted, when you activate your credit protection you will be prompted to verify your identity by clicking a secure link (not a numeric code) sent via SMS text message.
- If the phone number is not trusted but the email address is trusted, when you activate your credit protection you will be prompted to verify your identity by clicking a secure link sent via email.
- If neither phone number nor email is trusted, when you activate your credit protection you will be prompted to verify your identity by answering questions from your credit profile.
